MediaTek is a wireless communication company that offers a range of digital multimedia solutions for smartphones, tablets and other devices. Tsai Ming-kai, one of Taiwan’s richest entrepreneurs, has been at the helm of the firm for a number of years and has recently been re-elected as chairman. He has presided over the company’s exponential growth during the global economic downturn, and is known to demonstrate an acute awareness of markets and strategic developments. With many mobile phone providers relying on the chipsets developed by Mediatek, the company grows in tandem with the telecoms market. Among many others, the firm lists Asus, Acer, and Lenovo as clients.
