Combined Insurance was created in 1922, off the back of a $100 loan, and managed to survive 1929’s Great Depression, thanks to the nous of its founder W Clement Stone. It grew substantially during the 50s and 60s, and is now one of the largest insurers in the world, providing cover to 3.5 million policyholders across countries and continents. The business describes itself as ‘efficient, consistent and compliant’, as well as determined to understand and meet its customers’ needs and expectations. Combined Insurance has paid more than £5.3m in benefits to individuals, families and businesses throughout its time.
