Officially launched in 2011, the African Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (AGF) is a Pan-African financial institution owned by the African Development Bank, Danish International Development Agency and Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation. AGF promotes socioeconomic development and aims to reduce poverty in Africa by providing financial solutions. AGF has partnered with various names to champion the cause of lesser-served sectors of the economy. By sharing risk with existing financial institutions and breaking down the barriers to entry, AGF is an important business partner for SME financing providers.
