DuPont

DuPont is an American chemical company that was originally founded in France in 1802. It purchased the major American oil and gas producing company, Conoco, in 1981. The purchase made DuPont one of the top ten US-based petroleum and natural gas producers and refiners. DuPont introduces thousands of new products and patent applications each year and the company is particularly well known for its creation of widely used polymers such as neoprene, nylon, Teflon, Kevlar and Lycra. DuPont serves a variety of industries including agriculture, nutrition, electronics and communications, safety and protection, home and construction, transportation and apparel.
