With an extremely niche attitude toward investment, Sofinnova invests in start-ups, subsidiaries looking to build somewhat independently, and other companies that it recognises have great potential. The main focus of its work is Europe, and it is known to throw a great deal of commitment behind projects, investing as much as €25m in single transactions. Recently, it has been involved in several successful enterprises, including Actelion, Vista Print and Genset. Investing in over 450 companies in Europe since 1972, Sofinnova is considered an active agent in generating finance in order to pull the continent out of the current slump.
